A Hike at Osmeña Peak

This is another spontaneous trip I planned. It was because I missed hiking. Being a girl scout made me a girl close to mountains and nature. I missed hiking and getting dirty because of nature so I planned the trip.

This time, my companions are the Tampus sisters!

From Cebu City, we managed to catch a bus going to Baranggay Mantalungon. We paid 80php for the ride back then. After our hour long journey, we got off at our intended destination. We hailed a big motorcycle as a guide. We paid 50php per head on a one way ride for this.

On our way to the peak, the driver of the motorcycle dropped us off on a cliff nearby to attempt to see some monkeys. We were not lucky enough to see monkeys but we saw flirting colorful birds, though.

Since we are staying for a little bit up at the peak, we asked Mister Driver to come back for us before noon. We arrived there at nine o'clock in the morning so we have enough time to take in nature. It was also quite a trek. It was a relief that I got to breathe fresh air once again after a long time of being in the city.

We also got to visit an old cable car location on our way back to the city from the peak. Mister Driver dropped us off there, as a little bonus to our so-called tour.

We actually planned to go to Kawasan Falls after our travel at the peak. However, there were some issues with the place against the then Governor Gwen Garcia. Kawasan Falls was closed to visitors. To compensate for our desire to get into the water, we asked Mister Driver to bring us to the beach. We agreed to eat our boxed lunch there.

What shall we do?

Go to the beachside!

It was really worth the trip. The peak was not dangerous to trek and the kids who guided us up were very entertaining. The entire trip would have been perfect if we got to go to Kawasan Falls. However, the beach has compensated for that so everything is fine.
